Languages

I already speak three languages—but I know how to program in many more.

Fluent

I’m not sure if the word “fluent” applies to programming, but here are the languages I’m good in:

  • HTML, JavaScript, & CSS: the fundamentals of web development
  • Python: simple yet powerful
  • Arduino: built on top of C++ for microcontroller programming

Learning

I have some experience in these languages but wouldn’t consider myself “fluent”:

  • TypeScript: builds on top of JavaScript for type control
  • Astro: technically a framework, but I used it to program this portfolio

Want to Learn

I don’t know much about these languages but want to:

  • SQL: the standard way to interact with large databases
  • C: best for low-level hardware control (I’ve used this once)
  • C++: common for game development; Arduino is built on this

Honorable Mentions

I wouldn’t call these programming languages, but I’m still “fluent” in them:

  • Scratch: my first experience in (block-based) coding
  • Markdown: basic text formatting; this page is programmed in Markdown
  • Node.js: technically an enviroment, but used for many of my backend programs
  • JSON & YAML: both data formats for configurations and API responses
  • Math: even less of a programming language, but a fundamental for coding

Linguist

Using GitHub Linguist’s list of programming languages, here are the languages I’ve used on GitHub (in order of when I learned them):

  • HTML (.html)
  • CSS (.css)
  • JavaScript (.js)
  • C++ (Arduino) (.ino)
  • Python (.py)
  • JSON (.json)
  • Markdown (.md)
  • YAML (.yml)
  • Astro (.astro)
  • TypeScript (.ts)
